Canadian Baptist of Western Canada
The Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC) is a denomination of Baptist churches spanning British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Yukon/Northwest Territories.
It is one of the four regions that make up Canadian Baptist Ministries, a national body representing a moderate, mainline Baptist tradition.
Core Structure and Purpose
Voluntary Association: It functions as a family of roughly 160 churches that collaborate for shared mission, rather than a top-down hierarchy.
Mission: Focused on church planting, leadership development, and international relief through partnership programs.
Governance: While each local church is autonomous (congregationalist), they support a central office (the "Region") for collective administrative and spiritual support.
MMI Insurance
Need insurance? Looking for an ethical, even Christian, organization to do business with? Consider Mennonite Mutual Insurance. MMI was created by Christians to provide insurance coverage to its constituents and use profits for benevolent responses in the name of Christ.
MMI is a regulated insurance provider. McLaurin is a member church of MMI, so a portion of your insurance premiums is returned to McLaurin if you identify McLaurin as your home church when you purchase insurance from MMI.
